Vegan supermarkets are popping up all over the place it seems with the ever growing population of vegans around the UK it seems obvious that along with it will be the vegan entrepreneurs out there looking to get involved with veganism and business.

For vegans shopping can be quite a challenge what with all the label checking and searching for the golden “V” symbol so a vegan supermarket is a happy site and is bound to attract local vegans as they can literally buy anything and trust in it being vegan thanks to the supermarket owners only stocking vegan products.

Vegans in Wales can now rejoice as the first welsh vegan supermarket Kind Earth has opened in Llanelli after being awarded a grant from Carmarthenshire County Council. The supermarket is not only the first welsh vegan supermarket but its also the first plastic-free supermarket too!

Shoppers can pick up a range of products from household essentials to cleaning products, health products, cakes and even dog biscuits most of which are made from natural ingredients.

The local council welcomed Kind earth to their local community with open arms, Leader Cllr Emlyn Dole said “I am happy that we were able to provide funding to support Kind Earth” further going on to say it will “benefit the community and offer people a wider choice of food”.

Kind Earth also stocks a number of independent vegan product creators such as HelloGeorgia who is a very talented wood & ceramic designer who is Wales born and currently lives in London. You can check out here Etsy store here.

You can visit the store if you’re planning a road trip or local to Llanelli, the address is Unit 3 in Maes Y Coed.

Kind Earth source as much fruit and vegetables as locally as possible but also make sure that any fruit or vegetables that have to come from overseas travels by boat and not by plane to minimize the carbon footprint of the shop which we think is thoughtful and inspiring.

for those of you who forget to bring your VegansWorldwide reusable tote shopping bag (coming soon to the shop) to their store when going shopping you can purchase a fruit crate for £8.00 or a reusable and completely washable produce bag, alternatively there is also paper bags available.

So remember to shop lovingly and visit Kind Earth, oh and also let us know what you think of your shop there we would love to hear from you!
