I think most people in the USA have heard of Baskin Robbins especially if you grew up near or have ever visited the town of Massachusetts.
The first time I ever heard of it was when I watched the Tom Hanks film ‘Terminal‘ which was released in 2004 where he is forced to live in an airport terminal due to his country being in civil unrest. He has to find a place to sleep, eat and live day to day until his countries war is resolved and he can either go into the USA or return home.
Baskin Robbins features a few times in the film but I’d never seen it in the UK at all until I went to Birmingham which is close to where I live in the UK and there is one there, after googling it just now I can see that there is actually a number of Baskin Robbins in the UK in Birmingham, Leicester and four in London.
They have previously offered a number of fruit sorbets which are already vegan containing sugar, fruit and ice however they have announced that they will be adding two new additions to their new dairy free offerings.
We have been informed that the two new flavours will be vegan takes on their own fan favourites which are a yummy chocolate chip cookie dough which contains cookie dough pieces, chunks of indulgent dairy free chocolate and chocolate ribbon as well as a chocolate extreme!
Each will be made with coconut milk replacing the dairy so that it has the same milky / creamy texture along with a almond butter base. Both flavours contain no artificial dyes which have not been in any of the Basin Robbins flavours vegan or not since 2017 as part of their commitment to serving only high quality products.
Baskin Robbins vegan ice cream is both free from artificial flavours, preservatives, corn syrup which is high in fructose and are kosher as well! Carol Austin who is the Vice President of Marketing for Baskin Robbins also hinted at more new flavours int he future saying “We’re excited to expand our ice cream portfolio into the vegan space and offer our guests increased options”.
Baskin Robbins is in fact the worlds largest chain of ice cream specialty shops so we knew it wouldn’t be long before they joined the vegan movement.
Sadly I have to tell you that they are currently available in the UK however most of their flavours do reach the UK market shortly after the US so we are expecting them any day now, literally praying every night!
We contacted them to see when we could expect Baskin Robbins vegan ice cream in the UK however we are still waiting a reply.
